JOE MONSORATE - Trumpet

Joe is another member of the musician family “MONSORATE BROTHERS”. He stared out as a trumpeter playing with ‘Len and His Rebels’ and some Rock and Blues groups like the ‘Stoned Soul Band’ and the ‘Mystiks’. He then also went on to be part of the film industry and played as a soloist with Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyandji-Anandji and R D Burman, Anu Malik, and others.      

He has gone on concert tours with Asha Bhosale and Amitabh Bachchan to U.S.A, London, Holland and also with the above mentioned Music Directors. In 1978, he got the opportunity to play for THE INTERNATIONAL BIG BAND for the JAZZ YATRA led by Trumpeter CLARK TERRY which had the likes of Albert Mangelsdorf, Sadao Watanabe, Namyslowski, Chris Wood and Ian Carr in the band.
He has also played with Louis Banks at the Milestones concert and in many of his jingles. Last but not the least,

He has composed and arranger music along with Aadesh Shrivastav for films like BORDER and REFUGEE and on many occasions contributed to other music directors as well.

Ronnie is also a very important part of the family of musicians called “MONSORATE BROTHERS”. He played as a professional musician from 1972 to 1985 in Five Star Hotels like Oberoi’s Intercontinental (Delhi), Oberoi’s Soltee (Katmandu), Maurya Shereton and Akbar Hotel(Delhi), Holiday Inn and Sea Rock Hotel(Mumbai). In 1985 he settled for the film Industry and started working with Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, R.D.Burman, Bappi Lahiri, etc and have toured with Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar for two shows in London at the Wembley Arena, ten shows with Asha Bhosle in the U.S.A  He has also travelled  with Bappi Lahiri to USA, England, Fuji Island, Holland and South Africa.  With Himesh Reshammiya, Ronnie has the opportunity of performing at 18 shows in USA, eight shows in London and two in Mauritius. At present he is a complete programmer of music in the Film Industry with leading music directors like Anu Malik, Nadeem Sharavan, Jatin Latit,, Ismail Darbai, Sajit Wajid, Himesh Reshamiya etc.

Ronnie has performed three Gospel music concerts with 85 singers (Newman Choir) at St.Andrews and Birla Auditorium and has also conducted Gospel Music Seminars in London in eight parishes.

Besides, he has judged many Western talent contests all over Mumbai. He was also part of the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival" at Amsterdam in May 2011.

Ronnie has recently composed over a 100 Hindi Songs which are not yet released into the market. 


BOSCO MONSORATE - Trumpet

Coming from a family of musicians, more popularly known as “Monsorate Brothers”, Bosco too was exposed to the joys of music early in life. He started learning the trumpet at the age of eight. In 1972 he played in Delhi with the likes of Louis Banks, Braz Gonsalves, Denis Fernandes, Charlie Shepherd and others.  He also played at the Jazz Yatra with the Foot Tapper Big Band and also with the International Big Band led by the trumpeter Clark. He later joined the Film Industry and played with R.D Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyandji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik, etc. Bosco has had the opportunity to perform at live shows in the USA, London, Singapore, Holland and Australia with Bappi Lahiri, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Asha Bhosle. Recently, he too was part of the musical ensemble that performed at Amsterdam for the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival" in May 2011.


REX MONSORATE - Drums

Rex too belongs to the illustrious family who are popularly known as “MONSORATE BROTHERS” in the music circles.  He took to playing drums at a very early age. Later he took his rhythms to hotels like, Oberoi, Taj, Ashoka, Mauryas, Claridges in Delhi and Searock, JW Marriot etc in Mumbai. He has been part of the Indian Film Industry and performed with Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik and others. He too featured his music at the Jazz Yatra with “Foot Tapper Big Band.” Rex also travelled to Amsterdam and performed at the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival".



BLASCO MONSORATE - Trombone

He is the son of Ace Trumpeter of yesteryear, Peter Monsorate. Blasco Learnt to play the Trombone at the age of 14. He started his music career in Delhi at the Oberoi and Taj in 1976. Later in 1978, he joined the Film Industry and worked with RD Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik etc. From 1983 to 1991 he worked with Illaiyaraja.

Over the years, Blasco has experienced the best in the world of music with worldwide tours with Amitabh Bachan, Kalyanji-Anandji, Laksmikant-Pyarelal, Asha Bhosle, Adnan Sami and AR Rehman. More recently, he also performed in Amsterdam for the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival".



EFFIE MONSORATE - Vocals

The vocalist of the band, she started singing with a beat group “Kinetic Generation”. She then went on to Delhi and joined “Rock’s Band”.  Later she performed at the Ashoka Hotel and later the Oberoi in Delhi. She then came to Mumbai in 1980 and sang with Ronnie Monsorate at Searock Hotel and has been an integral part of the ‘Monsorate Brothers’ ever since. She has performed at numerous Jazz shows with the “Monsorate Brothers”.

SHYAM RAAJ - Saxophone

Shyam Raaj also hails from a family of musicians. He began learning music from the tender age of eight. He learnt the art of playing saxophone from his brother Manashyam. He has a very distinct style of combining the western melodies along with the rhythms of the east on the saxophone. Shyam Raaj has performed with leading musicians like Dr L Subramaniam, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Louis Banks, Boy George and Shankar Mahadevan. He has also been on world tours with Bollywood Stars like Amitabh Bacchan, AishwaryaRai, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and others. He has also has played with a host of prominent music directors that include Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, A R Rehman, Pritam etc. He has mastered the art of playing the saxophone as well as the western flute. He has many recordings to his credit and is recognized as one of the best musicians in the world of music. He also  performed in Amsterdam for the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival" in May 2011.


STEVE FRANCES - Bass Guitar

Steve is an accomplished Bass Guitarist and has been part of the music circuit for 35 years. He has played mainly in nightclubs and live shows. He aAlso performed in Amsterdam for the "Amersfoot Jazz Festival" in May 2011.
